My current office location in Garden City - Cairo holds more than walls, desks, and documents.
It was once the seedbed of conviction—where my late grandfather, Dr. Moustafa El-Hefnawy, continued his work as an international lawyer.
From printing newspapers on the Suez Canal to handling labor claims pro bono—preserving the dignity of Egyptian workers in the face of malpractice by the Suez Canal Company—this space carried one of the early pulses of a sovereignty movement.
It was here that ideas took root—leading to his PhD in Paris (1951) and his contribution to the legal framework behind Egypt’s nationalization of the Canal.
Later on, it became the creative ground for my father, Dr. Ali El-Hefnawy—architect, entrepreneur, and historian.
He led landmark initiatives including the Smart Village and the French University in Egypt, blending design, diplomacy, and institutional vision.
He also served as advisor to the Suez Canal Museum Project, preserving the very legacy his father helped shape.
Today, I am deeply humbled and proud to work within these same walls—still striving to echo their quiet rigor and vision.
This office holds more than memory. For me, it’s a legacy I walk into daily – with gratitude and purpose.
